RESOURCES ENERGY MANAGER PROGRAM AWARDED HIGH HONORS

November 5, 2009 - St. George Chadux Corporation has helped the Navy achieve platinum level awards from the Secretary of the Navy's Energy Award Program. Also in November 2009, Chadux received the Presidential Award for Leadership in Energy Management for saving the government millions of dollars in energy costs.

Mr. Tonnie G. Harrison, 23 year military veteran, and Certified Energy Manager with Chadux for Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana & Dam Neck Bases (Virginia Beach, VA), was a key player in delivering exactly what the United States President ordered:

"...the Federal government can and should lead by example when it comes to creating innovative ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency, conserve water, reduce waste and use environmentally responsible products and technologies," according to President Obama.

Chadux provided leadership and close collaboration with the NAS Oceana Energy Team and assisted NAS Oceana in reducing its energy consumption by over 40%. This saved the Federal government $2.4 million in energy costs and 117 billion btu. In fact, NAS Oceana/Dam Neck Annex surpassed its fiscal year 2015 energy savings goal ten years early.

THE LATEST

May 20, 2010 - The US government, supported by St. George Chadux Corporation under an environmental contract through the Chadux Tt Joint Venture, was awarded the 2010 Environmental Enhancement Project of the Year. The award was issued by the California Transportation Foundation for outstanding environmental remediation and restoration. The Foundation's annual program recognizes excellence in professionals and projects. St. George Chadux, an Alaskan Native Corporation provided remedial site investigation planning and implementation, and regulatory documentation.

Caltrans initiated a $15.5 million mitigation package for the protection and enhancement of aquatic habitats as part of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge East Span project. The restoration of an island site in Sonoma County is part of that package. More than 100 empty buildings, some containing asbestos and lead paint, were slowly degrading and increasing the threat of contaminated materials entering the Bay. The project to restore the site and promote a wildlife refuge was the result of an unparalleled partnership between Caltrans, the California Transportation Commission, the Bay Area Toll Authority, the US Navy, US Fish and Wildlife Service, the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control.

This award speaks to true agency collaboration and the genuine team effort put forth by all parties to achieve the goal of restoring native habitats. The project serves as a wonderful example of successful implementation when a client is dedicated to sustainability and hires qualified professional environmental firms to support their mission. Although St. George Chadux is a small disadvantaged business enterprise, it has proven ability to perform to the highest standards and achieve extraordinary success working with the regulatory community.
