| Educational Requirements: | Minimum of BS in engineering, biology, geology or environmental science preferred. Progress toward appropriate professional certification is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word and Power Point. Proficiency in Microsoft Project is a plus. |
A P1 supports the existing AECRU contract and other environmental services contracts, and performs the following duties:

Prepares plans required for environmental site characterization including active and passive investigation under the direction of the project/task manager. These types of plans include:

Work plans
-
Sampling and analysis plans
-
Quality assurance project plans
-
Data quality management plans
-
Health and safety plans
-
Accident prevention plans
-
Performs field work under the direction of the project/task manager including the oversight of well installations, soil borings, fencing and other temporary structures related to investigation and remediation activities

Collects soil and groundwater samples under the supervision of the project/task manager according to prescribed methodologies and in accordance with the site-specific plans

Transmits samples to laboratories using the appropriate chain of custody procedures

Prepares reports under the direction of the project/task manager that describe the results of site characterization

Remedial investigation reports
The P1 must maintain OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER certification and any additional certification required by contract (such as supervisor and/or construction worker training).
