Environmental Scientist/Engineer/Geologist
P 4

Professional Level: P 4 (15+ years experience)
Salary Range: $95,999 - $110,000 per year
Payroll Designation: Exempt
Educational Requirements: Minimum of BS in engineering, biology, geology or environmental science preferred; MS preferred. Professional certifications expected.  At least 5 years of the last 10 years of experience must include project management and proposal preparation for large (greater than $1,000,000), complex projects.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word and Power Point.  Proficiency in Microsoft Project is a plus.

A P 4 supports the CEO and COO and the existing AECRU contract and other environmental services contracts, and performs the following duties:

  • Develops hiring plans
  • Develops new sales for environmental/engineering services
  • Supports other environmental programs as needed
  • Assists with the development of corporate policies and procedures
  • Assists with the development and integration of formal cost controls
  • Targets other opportunities
  • In addition the P 4 will manage and perform the duties described below:
    • Work plans
    • Sampling and analysis plans
    • Quality assurance project plans
    • Data quality management plans
    • Health and safety plans
    • Accident prevention plans
  • Manage and perform field work as needed including the oversight of well installations, soil borings, fencing and other temporary structures related to investigation and remediation activities
  • Analyze the results of laboratory data as it pertains to site characterization and recommend an action based on the result
  • Manage and prepare reports that describe the results of site characterization
    • Site investigation reports
    • Remedial investigation reports
  • Manage and prepare decision document reports  required under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP); and all regulatory guidance pertinent to these acts
  • Manage tasks and projects including project set-up, cost and budget control, sub-contractor management, client invoices and accounts receivable
  • Estimate costs and prepare proposals as requested
  • Procure subcontractors
  • Prepare project schedules

The P 4 must maintain OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER certification and any additional certification required by contract (such as supervisor and/or construction worker training).
